Hazel’s paintings represent the Alhepalh, which is a type of acacia plant abundant in Utopia. This particular shrub is coated in seeds that the women in Utopia gather to grind into a paste. This paste is then used to cook damper bread, making it a very important food source.

When Hazel paints stories associated with ceremony, it is to depict the celebration of the acacia plant.
