Lucrecia paints stories associated with hunting for bush tucker in the Northern Territory. The various types of Bush Tucker depicted in her artworks include the Bush Banana, Sea Turtle, Honey Ant, Witchetty Grub, Barramundi, and the Rainbow Snake. Lucrecia’s paintings are designed to provide information to the younger members of her family as to how and where to collect these bush foods, and which ones are edible or useful for medicinal or other purposes. This is part of the women’s responsibility to pass on tradition and knowledge from one generation to the next.
