Freda represents the Yam Seed as a delicate white dot work, while the coloured loop-like lines represent the flowers of the Yam plant. The dot work is both representative of the seed of the yam, as well as the body design applied to the women's bodies for ceremony.

The Bush Yam plant is one of the most reliable sources of food found in Freda’s country. The yam is most abundant after the rain when the root system is at its most prolific stage of regeneration. The Bush yam grows underground with a vine-like shrub that grows above ground up to 1 metre high.
